What is a Total Loss?

If the cost to repair damages is greater than the amount the vehicle is determined to be worth by the insurance company, the vehicle is considered to be a total loss. However, it is up to your insurance company and their specific policy to determine if they plan on investing into those repairs that are needed or if they determine your car to be a Total Loss.
